Walk-In Contraceptive Services

Get all your contraceptive care in one place: the Maxwell AFB walk-in contraceptive clinic.

All beneficiaries are eligible for care and counseling at walk-in contraceptive clinic and can receive education on safe sexual practices, contraceptives, and STI prevention and treatment.

The clinic is open on Tuesdays, 8-11 a.m.

Services Offered

We offer the following products and services:
  • Patches
  • Pills
  • Implants (i.e., Nexplanon)
  • IUDs (Mirena)
  • Emergency Contraception (Plan B)
  • Rings (NuvaRing)
  • Depo-Provera injections
  • Condoms
  • Bilateral Tubal Ligation referrals

How it Works

The clinic provides education on various contraceptive options and can prescribe oral birth control options, Depo-Provera injections, NuvaRing, condoms, and patches on the same day. A pregnancy test may be required. Birth control options that involve procedures, such as an IUD or Nexplanon, depending upon clinic availability may be done on the same day as the walk-in. However, the patient may make an appointment after counseling or a referral for these procedures. Plan B is available over the counter at most community pharmacies and the MTF pharmacy. Active -duty patients have first priority for care; all other beneficiaries will be seen on a space-available basis.
