A registered nurse from the 42nd Medical Group has become the first nurse from Maxwell to complete the Comprehensive Medical Readiness Program (CMRP) rotation at the Level 2 Trauma Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery, Alabama.

The 42nd Medical Group and Humana Military held a Provider Open House on base to strengthen the relationships with local care providers, Nov. 8, 2023.The open house provided the opportunity for the medical group to connect with over 30 community providers of mental health services to help them understand the base mission, the unique challenges faced by military families, and how providers can better assist military members, retirees, and dependents.

Capt. Ben Schmitt, a physical therapist with the 42nd Air Base Wing's Operational Support Team, was embedded with the 42nd Security Forces Squadron when an Airman suffered a shoulder dislocation during training on his first day in July. Schmitt promptly addressed the injury, averting additional joint damage. His quick response allowed the Airman to continue with their planned permanent change of station two days later without complications

 “Q-Flow is our solution, so patients don’t have to stand in long lines,” said Col. Paul Smith, commander, 42nd Healthcare Operations Squadron. “Beneficiaries can take a ticket and sit down until it is their turn to be called to the window for their prescription. We are trying to improve our customer experience at the medical group and believe this is one step toward achieving that goal.”
